Rose Rocks – Archived 2023-07-01

We are working hard to preserve Oklahoma’s rare geological state rock, the barite rose, commonly known as a ‘Rose Rock’.  Rose rocks only occur in very few places on the earth, Oklahoma being the number one place that they are found.  We are working to get the barite vein classified as a GeoHeritage Status, to help protect such are rare geological find.
